It Takes Two    I think Lesley Manville and Dorothy Atkinson are two of the most diverse actors working today. Sharing the screen in films such as Topsy Turvy and Mr. Turner. But it is their turns on the television series Mum and Harlots where you can see how diverse and talented they are ! Both shows are coming back for a third series.

In a show that is always predictable they got something right for once. Olivia Colman ! She gave the best performance this year which really does make her The Favorite !

I was sad to learn that production will cease for the A380 due to lack of sales. I was lucky to be able to fly this amazing plane back from London in July of 2017 and it was an experience I will never forget. If you enlarge the photo you can see my reflection in the glass just under the wing as I photograph it !

I really enjoyed this biopic on the life of Barbara Windsor. From her early days as a child actress to being a blonde bombshell and a staple of the Carry On films, and later as a regular on EastEnders. A career spanning more than 50 years. Carry On Dame Barbara !

I look forward to seeing this film based on the life of the KGB's longest serving British Spy.

One of my favorite pieces of music is Warsaw Concerto composed by Richard Addinsell for the 1941 film Dangerous Moonlight. It is played here by Jean-Yves Thibaudet, who has recorded the works of Debussy and Satie two of my favorite composers of modern classical. I should also mention the film is also a favorite of mine. Favorite being the keyword for today !

SWING OUT SISTER

I bought their first record in 1987 and their most recent in 2018. After 30 years they are still my favorite British group, a mix of pop, jazz and lounge. What you see here is only half of it, I have everything they have ever recorded ! Thank You Corinne Drewery and Andy Connell for music that is timeless.

Mary Queen Of Scots

Critics in the States seem divided on this, but a few people have told me they enjoyed it very much. I am sure I will also. American critics know nothing about British history anyway !

A friend recently watched this and found it quite interesting. I have had it for awhile now and for some reason have never gotten around to viewing it. Set in the 1870's in a fictional town in the Yorkshire Dales of England, it follows the lives of people building a railway viaduct. I love Jessica Raine, so maybe it's time I watched this !
