I recently watched Royal Wives At War, a BBC docudrama on the alleged feud between Wallis Simpson and Elizabeth The Queen Mother. How true is any of this, I don't know. I found myself thinking of W.E. the film by Madonna. It was maligned by critics, but I don't go by their judgement. I rather enjoyed it, beautifully produced with a excellent performance by Andrea Riseborough as Wallis. In my opinion it could have been better had it's perspective remained in past events, and not the present day plot. There was tension and friction between these two women and that would have been far more interesting to see unfold.
